Patrick Clancy and Rachel Danis Announce New Family Plans After Children's Tragic Deaths

Patrick Clancy and his spouse, Rachel Danis, have announced their intention to start a family. The couple expressed their eagerness to share the memories of Clancy's three children—5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan—with their future offspring, who were tragically killed by his former wife, Lindsay Clancy.

This revelation came during an interview with "60 Minutes," marking Patrick Clancy's first public statement since his ex-wife's high-profile murder trial concluded in a hung jury earlier this month. Danis, an infertility specialist who married Patrick Clancy earlier this year, joined him for the interview. When journalist Ross Douthat asked if they were starting a family, Danis confirmed.

Patrick Clancy shared his excitement about introducing his future children to the memory of their older siblings. "I think every parent can agree, you have different relationships with your kids, but they’re all your kids. And I can’t wait to tell them about their brothers and sister," he stated during the conversation.

The couple exchanged vows in April at an intimate ceremony held at the Ladies Pavilion in New York City’s Central Park, a location Danis revealed was where they first met. "I was just a girl that met a guy running in Central Park on a really cold Saturday," she recounted, dismissing criticisms received online regarding their marriage. "I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that," she added.

Patrick Clancy relocated to Manhattan after discovering his three young children had been strangled by his ex-wife at their Duxbury, Massachusetts, home in January 2023. He found it unbearable to remain in the small town. "Everything just came to a screeching halt," Patrick Clancy explained on "60 Minutes." He continued, "And then there was a day where I– really without thinking, I drove by their school. And it was at the exact time that all of their friends were getting dropped off. And I was just– I couldn’t be there anymore."

Seeking anonymous solace, he moved to Manhattan. There, he joined a run club, where he met Danis, 37, in January 2024. Danis, a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist at a New York City clinic, and Clancy soon developed a romantic relationship. Their journey has been documented through heartwarming social media photos, showing them at a Barry’s workout class and smiling together at the NYC Marathon in November 2025.

Clancy, who admitted to experiencing suicidal thoughts after his children's deaths, credited Danis with helping him process his grief. "My life has changed since I met Rachel in such a positive way," he told Douthat. Meanwhile, his ex-wife remains at Tewksbury State Hospital in Massachusetts following her triple murder case's mistrial, after one juror declined to acquit her by reason of insanity due to severe postpartum psychosis.
