Osogbo Resident Adejuwon Adekunle Killed in Suspected Cult Shooting

A tragic incident unfolded in the Dele Yes Sir community of Osogbo, Osun State, as a man identified as Adejuwon Adekunle, popularly known as Asa, lost his life in a suspected cult-related attack. The fatal shooting occurred near a local recreation centre in the early hours of Tuesday, September 15, specifically between 1:30 am and 2 am.

According to preliminary investigations by the Osun State Police Command, the circumstances surrounding Adekunle's death strongly suggest an involvement with cult activities. Following the shooting, the victim was immediately rushed to a hospital; however, he was tragically pronounced deceased upon arrival. His remains have since been deposited at the mortuary.

A distressing video capturing the aftermath of the event has been widely circulated across social media platforms. The footage reportedly shows Adekunle's lifeless body on the ground, with a woman seen openly grieving beside him.

Mr. Abiodun Ojelabi, who serves as the spokesperson for the Osun State Police Command, confirmed these details. In response to the grave nature of the incident, the Commissioner of Police has issued a directive for the case to be transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department. This move aims to facilitate a more thorough and discreet investigation into the killing. As of now, authorities have not yet made any arrests in connection with Adejuwon Adekunle’s death.
