Armed Men Torch Patrol Vehicle at Oyo Army Base

An Army outpost situated along the Igbeti–Igboho road within the Oorelope Local Government Area of Oyo State came under attack from unidentified assailants, who subsequently set ablaze a section of the base and a patrol vehicle. The incident, according to a security update issued by the Oorelope Local Government Command, transpired between 5:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2026.

The command disclosed that it received an urgent report detailing that numerous armed individuals had invaded the Operation Burst facility. In response, it promptly deployed its personnel, alongside operatives from various other security agencies, to the affected location. However, the attackers had already fled the scene prior to the arrival of the security team.

Following the incident, security operatives conducted a thorough search of the vicinity in an attempt to apprehend the perpetrators, but no arrests were made. The security update confirmed that no casualties were recorded during the attack. Nevertheless, the assailants were reported to have incinerated a block within the military base and a patrol van, resulting in the destruction of both properties.
