The Cross River State Police Command has launched a comprehensive investigation into the brutal killing of a Bolt e-hailing driver in Calabar. The tragic event unfolded in the early hours of Friday, around 5:30 am, on Target Road within the Calabar South Local Government Area. The driver was reportedly attacked by three unidentified men who attempted to forcibly take his Toyota Corolla vehicle, a move he allegedly resisted.
An eyewitness account revealed that the driver had picked up the three suspects along Mbukpa Road, also in Calabar South, and was en route to Calabar Municipality. During the journey, the assailants allegedly ordered him to stop and hand over his car keys. Upon his refusal to comply with their demands, the men resorted to violence, stabbing him multiple times.

Confirming the incident to journalists, ASP Eitokpah Sunday Akata, the Police Public Relations Officer for Cross River State, stated that the command has initiated an investigation to apprehend the suspects who are currently at large.
