Security forces under Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP) have commenced extensive rescue and offensive operations in Kaduna State following a recent kidn*p incident. The operation was launched after a medical doctor and the spouse of a local chief (Hakimi) were forcefully taken from their community. The unfortunate event unfolded around 7:40 a.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2026, within Abu village, located in Ninzo Ward of Sanga Local Government Area.

According to preliminary intelligence from a security insider, troops from Sector 7, specifically Sub-Sector 71, stationed at Raga General Duty post, were alerted to the abduction of Dr. Ezekiel Audu and the Hakimi’s wife. Further reports indicated that the kidn*ppers opened fire on two local residents who attempted to confront them as they made their escape with the victims. Tragically, both residents were k!lled during the confrontation.

In response to the attack, military personnel immediately initiated search and rescue efforts, leveraging intelligence that pointed towards a potential hideout for the fleeing abductors. The troops subsequently advanced into the identified vicinity with the objective of intercepting the criminals and securing the release of the captives. As of the latest update from security sources, no direct engagement has occurred with the kidn*ppers.

The military has affirmed its unwavering commitment to continuing the efforts to locate and rescue the abducted individuals, as well as to identify and apprehend those responsible for the crime. Meanwhile, security operatives are maintaining a heightened state of vigilance and surveillance across the affected area as the extensive search operation persists.
