Baltimore Ravens' Rashod Bateman Faces Charges Over Alleged Car Attack with Infant Inside

Full Story
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver, Rashod Bateman, is currently embroiled in a family violence case in Georgia, stemming from accusations that he allegedly damaged his former partner's vehicle while their three-month-old child was present. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the alleged incident took place around 6 a.m. on June 3.
Authorities claim Bateman used an unidentified object to smash the windshield and the driver's side window of the woman's 2021 Mercedes-Benz. The alleged victim reported to police that shattered glass from the incident caused multiple minor cuts to her face. The responding officer corroborated this, noting glass fragments on her face along with several contusions.
Court records indicate that the couple's infant, just three months old at the time, was secured in a car seat in the back row of the vehicle during the alleged assault. Bateman's legal representatives confirmed that the Ravens player voluntarily presented himself to the Walton County Sheriff's Office on the same day the incident reportedly occurred.
Several weeks later, Bateman petitioned the court to lift a no-contact order previously issued against him, asserting that the alleged victim had expressed a desire to communicate. The court granted this request, though it maintained a prohibition against any violent interaction between Bateman and the woman. Additionally, a judge mandated that Bateman must complete a specific class before he is permitted to see the alleged victim.
Jordan Siev of Reed Smith, Bateman's attorney, communicated to TMZ, "It is unfortunate that a personal family situation has been taken completely out of context for sensational reasons. We will let the court process play out and the facts will come out at that time." A spokesperson for the Baltimore Ravens also issued a statement to TMZ, saying, "We are aware of the situation involving Rashod and have been in direct communication with him. We notified the league office and have been cooperating throughout the process. As this is a pending legal matter, we will not have further comment."
The case is still active, and the allegations against Bateman have not yet been substantiated in court.
