EFCC, ICPC Launch Probe Into N12bn Federal Fund for NFF Player Payments

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) alongside the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) have initiated an investigation into the management of a N12 billion intervention fund allocated to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). This substantial sum was disbursed by the Federal Government with the express purpose of settling outstanding salaries, bonuses, and various other financial obligations owed to national team players. Both federal anti-graft agencies are meticulously scrutinizing the utilization and disbursement processes of these funds to ascertain whether they were appropriately applied for their intended objective, which included addressing a range of commitments related to the national team.
