Deadly Kaduna Bandit Raids: JTF Operative, Businessman Slain; Mother, Son Abducted

Armed bandits recently unleashed terror in Kaduna State, resulting in the death of a Joint Task Force (JTF) operative and the abduction of a mother, Asma'u, along with her young son, Umar. The harrowing incident unfolded in Kyauta New Millennium City, located within the Chikun Local Government Area.
Reports indicate that the assailants stormed the community around 11 pm on Tuesday. During the invasion, Asma'u's husband narrowly escaped capture by concealing himself inside his vehicle as the bandits carried out their operation. A JTF member, who requested anonymity while speaking to Daily Trust on Friday, August 21, confirmed that security volunteers spent the entire night attempting to track the attackers.
"A mother and her child were kidnapped, but the father managed to escape during the attack. One of our JTF members was shot and died at the hospital," the anonymous JTF source stated. Further details revealed that the JTF operative sustained a gunshot wound to the head during the encounter and was swiftly transported to Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital in Kaduna for urgent medical attention. Regrettably, he succumbed to his injuries just a few hours after admission.
A senior security official, also speaking on condition of anonymity due to not being authorized to comment publicly, corroborated the incident, describing it as truly unfortunate. As of the time this report was compiled, the Kaduna State Police Command had not yet released an official statement regarding the attack, and the whereabouts of the abducted mother and son remain unknown.
In a separate but similar act of violence, bandits simultaneously attacked the Gubuchi community situated in the Makarfi Local Government Area of Kaduna State. During this raid, they kidnapped and subsequently killed Alhaji Rabo Gesha Gubuchi, a prominent local businessman.
