Terrorists Strike in Niger State, Claiming Nine Lives on Wawa-Lumma Road

In a distressing incident, the Niger State Police Command has retrieved the bodies of nine individuals who were brutally murdered by terrorists along the Wawa-Lumma road in the Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State. According to SP Wasiu Abiodun, the spokesperson for the Niger State Police Command, the tragic event occurred while the victims were travelling. On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, in Minna, Abiodun informed the News Agency of Nigeria that upon receiving the distressing news on Tuesday, a combined team of police and military personnel was swiftly deployed to the scene to evacuate the bodies. He further disclosed that efforts have been intensified to secure the area and prevent any potential security threats. As Abiodun stated, 'Police and military tactical teams were mobilised to the scene; the bodies recovered, while clearance operation was intensified to secure the area.'
