Ekiti Police Nab Six Alleged Cultists After Hotel Clash, M8rder Attempt

Authorities in Ekiti State have confirmed the apprehension of six individuals believed to be members of the Alora Confraternity. Their arrest follows allegations of attempted m8rder linked to a violent altercation that transpired at a hotel situated in Ikere-Ekiti.

The Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS) moved swiftly to effect the arrests after the disturbance, which unfolded in the early hours of Saturday, August 1, 2026. The scene of the incident was Inspiration Hotel, a location where the suspected cult members were said to have convened for a gathering. Law enforcement officials indicated that the assembly escalated into violence as the participants reportedly engaged in a brawl amongst themselves. This confrontation resulted in serious injuries to one individual known only by the alias “Sucrose.”

SP Sunday Abutu, the command’s spokesperson, issued a statement on Monday revealing these developments. He detailed how the RRS, supported by surveillance teams from the Ilupeju Division, promptly arrived at the hotel and took six suspects into custody. These individuals were identified as Owolabi Oluwapelumi (28), David Adeleke (28), Oluwatoba Alo (30), Junior Olamilekan (27), Segun Bidemi (29), and Emmanuel Oladele (27).

The statement further noted that during initial questioning, the apprehended individuals reportedly admitted their affiliation with the Alora Secret Cult Confraternity. Among the items confiscated from the suspects were a Toyota Camry vehicle, two face caps adorned with the Alora logo, three plastic cups also featuring the Alora emblem, a shirt stained with blood, a pair of scissors, a yellow hand band, and a key holder displaying the group’s insignia.

Police authorities confirmed that efforts are actively underway to track down and arrest other suspects who managed to escape from the location. Additionally, the management of Inspiration Hotel is currently facing investigation for allegedly permitting their property to be utilized for activities suspected to be cult-related.

Mr. Michael Falade, the Commissioner of Police for the state, has issued directives for a thorough and intensified investigation into the matter. He reiterated the command’s unwavering dedication to tackling cultism and various forms of violent crime within the state. Furthermore, Commissioner Falade appealed to the public to maintain their support by offering reliable and prompt information to aid the police in locating and apprehending those who fled, as well as other criminal elements. He assured citizens that the command would continue to implement proactive strategies to ensure the safety of lives and assets throughout Ekiti State.
