Plateau Police Nab Additional Suspect Over Brutal Murder of Jos Model Ibrahim Mbaya

The Plateau State Police Command has made a significant breakthrough in the investigation into the gruesome murder of 25-year-old model, Ibrahim Mbaya, with the arrest of an additional suspect. The University of Jos graduate, who was popularly known as Ibee, lost his life on Sunday, July 26, 2026, after being brutally assaulted by a mob that included some of his friends. The attack was allegedly sparked by accusations of phone theft. The police spokesperson, SP Alfred Alabo, revealed that the latest arrest was made possible by intelligence gathered from a Good Samaritan who alerted the authorities about a young man who had been rushed to the hospital in critical condition following a brutal assault. The suspect, identified as Tisloh Joshua, is currently in police custody, and an investigation is ongoing. The police command has also intensified efforts to apprehend two other suspects who are still at large. The Plateau State Police Command has reiterated its commitment to ensuring that everyone connected to the unfortunate incident is identified, arrested, and prosecuted according to the law. The command has also appealed to the public to refrain from taking the law into their own hands and to report any suspected criminal activities to the police or other relevant security agencies. The family of the deceased and the people of Plateau State have been assured that justice will be diligently pursued in the case.
