Seattle Food Festival Turns Bloody as Gunfire Claims Three Lives

A violent incident occurred at the Seattle Center, where the popular Bite of Seattle food festival was taking place, resulting in the loss of three lives and leaving four people injured, including a young toddler. The shooting, which happened around 6 p.m. local time on Sunday, sent shockwaves through the crowd, with several shots ringing out near the Space Needle. According to the Seattle Times and the police, a suspect was later taken into custody. However, another suspect is still at large, with Seattle Assistant Police Chief Tyrone Davis stating that 'there may be more' and that the authorities are still trying to piece together the events surrounding the shooting. The injured victims, who include a 2-year-old boy, a 23-year-old man, and two women aged 39 and 56, were hospitalized, with one of the victims later succumbing to their injuries. A 40-year-old woman also suffered minor injuries but refused to be taken to the hospital. Witness Michael Girardi described the scene as chaotic, with people trampling over each other in a bid to flee the gunfire. 'The mother was in anguish,' he told the Seattle Times, referring to the mother of the injured toddler. Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson announced that one person had been taken into custody about three hours after the shooting occurred. The police suspect that the shooting was a result of an exchange of gunfire between two individuals. Food festival attendee Estan Wakonabo, 25, recounted the chaos that ensued, stating that 'it was just pure chaos' and that 'people were hiding, were pushing, people were falling on the ground, baby strollers were falling.' The incident has left the community in shock, with the authorities urging anyone with information to come forward.
