Yobe: Man Detained Over Alleged Defilement of 8-Year-Old Sister

Authorities in Yobe State have confirmed the arrest of a 26-year-old individual concerning the alleged defilement of his eight-year-old sister within the Potiskum Local Government Area. According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the case was brought to the Potiskum Division on June 22, around 3:30 PM, by Musa Abdullahi from the Sabon Layi community.
The arrested suspect, identified as Abdullahi Musa, 26, residing in the Dogo Nini area of Potiskum, is accused of enticing his younger sister, Hajara Umar, aged 8, into his private room where the alleged crime took place. Furthermore, Musa reportedly threatened the young victim to deter her from disclosing the incident.
Upon receiving the formal complaint, police officers promptly responded, visiting and thoroughly documenting the alleged crime scene before taking the suspect into custody. Both Hajara Umar and Abdullahi Musa have since been transported to the Yobe State Specialist Hospital for comprehensive medical evaluations.
The police command indicated that investigations are ongoing and await the results of these medical reports. Subsequently, the matter will be handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for appropriate legal proceedings. Officials have pledged to ensure that justice is served fully within the confines of the law.
