The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two individuals in connection with the untimely demise of a young woman, Eno Udosen, in Port Harcourt. Ms. Udosen tragically lost her life on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, after being struck by a speeding vehicle, part of a convoy, near the Rivers State University campus in Port Harcourt.

Reports indicate that the victim sustained critical head injuries upon impact with the ground following the accident. Sources close to the incident informed Punch on Wednesday that several occupants of the convoy vehicles reportedly abandoned the scene once they realized the woman had succumbed to her injuries.

An eyewitness recounted that security personnel from the university, along with the police, were immediately notified. They swiftly moved to secure all exit points leading from the campus. Subsequently, operatives from the Nkpolu Police Division, working in concert with the university's security team, apprehended two suspects. These individuals were identified as Onunaka and Daniel, who were driving a Toyota Camry Spider and a Mercedes-Benz E300, respectively. The source further suggested that the two suspects might be students enrolled at Rivers State University.

Currently, the suspects are being held at the Nkpolu Police Division, situated in the Mile 3 area of Diobu, Port Harcourt. Meanwhile, Ms. Udosen’s body has been retrieved and deposited at a mortuary.

Blessing Agabe, the spokesperson for the state police command, verified both the incident and the arrests on Wednesday. She stated, "Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident, while the woman’s corpse has been retrieved and deposited in the mortuary." Agabe further added, "So, yes, I can confirm the incident, and the investigation is ongoing."
