Gunmen Wreak Havoc in Kaduna, Kill Driver, Abduct Passengers, as Troops Rescue Two

A daring attack by suspected kidnappers has resulted in the death of a commercial vehicle driver and the abduction of four passengers in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State. According to security sources, Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred in the early hours of June 6, 2026, along the Rafi Tagwai–Angwan Dariya road. The assailants had set up a barricade on the highway and attacked a commercial vehicle conveying passengers. Unfortunately, the driver of the vehicle, identified as Mr. Ibrahim Musa, was shot dead by the gunmen before they abducted four passengers. However, troops from Operation Enduring Peace, deployed at Ungwan Gora, quickly responded to reports of the incident and moved to the scene. Upon arrival, the troops discovered that the driver had been killed and four passengers abducted. During a search-and-rescue operation conducted in the adjoining bushes, the troops successfully rescued two injured passengers. The sources noted that eight empty shells of 7.62mm special ammunition were recovered at the scene. The rescued victims were taken to Confidence Hospital, Fadan Karshi, for medical treatment. Security personnel have continued search-and-rescue operations to locate and rescue the remaining two abducted passengers, while efforts are ongoing to track down the perpetrators. The military has reassured residents of its commitment to combating criminal activities and ensuring the safety of commuters along major routes in the area.
