Plateau State Troops Thwart Kidnapping Attempt on Pastor Ayuba Bitrus and Wife

In a daring operation, troops from Sector 5 of Operation Enduring Peace successfully foiled an attempted kidnapping of Pastor Ayuba Bitrus and his wife, Nanman Bitrus, in the Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State. The incident occurred on the evening of June 5 at Faggem Village in the Tarangol District. Following a distress call indicating the presence of armed kidnappers, the troops swiftly responded and intervened, forcing the would-be kidnappers to abandon their plan and flee. According to sources, the couple sustained injuries during the ordeal but were promptly rescued and taken to Dung Clinic in Bokkos for medical attention. The sources noted that 'the troops responded promptly to the report and engaged in efforts that compelled the kidnappers to abandon their mission and escape.' Furthermore, security personnel have launched an operation to track down and apprehend the fleeing suspects. Operation Enduring Peace has reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the lives and property of Plateau State residents and urged the public to continue providing timely and credible information to support their efforts.
