Kwara Kidnap Victims Freed by Nigerian Army's Operation SAVANNAH SHIELD

In a bold operation, the Nigerian Army's Joint Task Force, North Central, under Operation SAVANNAH SHIELD, has successfully rescued two individuals who were taken captive by kidnappers in Kwara State. The rescue mission took place during a clearance operation along the Gidan Dogo Ekaa axis, where the troops encountered the victims who had managed to escape from their captors. According to a statement released by the Army on its official social media handle, the operation was a testament to the military's unwavering commitment to ridding the North Central region of criminal elements. The statement read, 'In a decisive demonstration of operational prowess, troops of the Joint Task Force (JTF) North Central Operation SAVANNAH SHIELD (OPSS), deployed at Patrol Base Babasango, successfully rescued two civilians from the clutches of kidnappers in Kwara State.' The rescued individuals, identified as Mr Temitope Samuel, 42, and Mr Mohammed Sani, 40, were immediately provided with medical attention and psychological support following their ordeal. The Army has assured that arrangements are being made to reunite the victims with their families, while also reaffirming its commitment to sustained operations against criminal groups. The Nigerian Army has reiterated its resolve to safeguard lives and property through sustained, intelligence-led operations under Operation SAVANNAH SHIELD, and has urged members of the public to continue providing credible information to support ongoing security efforts.
