Hotel Staff Implicated in Multi-Million Naira Scam Over Five Years

In a shocking confession, a hotel staff member identified as Yokonta Friday has admitted to his involvement in a long-running scam that saw him and other staff members stealing millions of naira from the hotel. According to Friday, the scam, which lasted for five years, involved him collecting money from hotel guests, transferring the funds into his personal account, and then sharing the proceeds with his accomplices. Friday claimed that he, along with two other individuals, Mr. Wale and Mr. Seyi, would take the largest share of the stolen money before distributing the rest to other staff members who were allegedly involved in the scheme. He further revealed that all members of the housekeeping department were aware of the arrangement. When questioned about the proceeds of the alleged theft, Friday confirmed that he had used the money to build a house. He also disclosed that between May of last year and June this year, a total of N17.8 million had passed through his personal account. During the questioning, Friday acknowledged that his actions were criminal and took full responsibility for the theft. The confession has sparked widespread outrage and raised concerns about the level of corruption and dishonesty within the hotel industry.
