In a significant breakthrough, the Federal Capital Territory Police Command has apprehended three individuals suspected of involvement in kidnapping, following the circulation of a video showcasing them openly flaunting AK-47 rifles, ammunition, and communication devices while donning military attire. This development was confirmed by the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Sanusi, who disclosed that upon the video's emergence, he promptly initiated a forensic analysis to trace the video's origin and launched a manhunt for the suspects. A coordinated operation was conducted at the crack of dawn on May 25, at approximately 3:22 AM, in Runji Village, Zuba, by a team comprising the FCT Police VCRU Sector 5 and personnel from the Zuba Division, under the leadership of the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Ogu Caleb Ikechukwu. The arrested suspects have been identified as Umar Babangida, aged 25, Adamu Yeti, 22, and Yahaya Idris, 24, all of whom are residents of Rijana in Kaduna State.
