Cameroonian National Arrested in FCT for Alleged Murder Over Fraudulent Earnings

A disturbing case of greed and betrayal has unfolded in the Federal Capital Territory, where a 32-year-old Cameroonian, Emmanuel Acha Leku, was taken into custody by the FCT police for allegedly murdering his friend, 22-year-old Emmanuel Chukwuemeka. The two were reportedly involved in an internet fraud scheme, and a dispute over the sharing of the proceeds led to the tragic incident. According to the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Sanusi, detectives from the Apo Divisional Headquarters received a report of a missing person on May 2, which led to a coordinated operation with the Benue State Police Command to track down the suspects. Utilizing advanced digital intelligence, the police were able to apprehend Leku and his girlfriend, Ms. Kazan Vincent, in Adikpo, Benue State. Preliminary investigations revealed that Leku had confessed to the crime, stating that Chukwuemeka had absconded with the entire payout from their fraudulent activities and refused to give him his share. This led to a confrontation that ended in the murder of Chukwuemeka in a mountainous area in Lokogoma. In an attempt to disguise the crime as a kidnapping, Leku used the deceased's phone to demand a ransom of five million naira from his family members. The police were able to recover two mobile phones from the suspect, including the one belonging to the deceased. The remains of the victim have been deposited at Sahad Hospital, Apo, for autopsy. The police commissioner confirmed that further investigations are ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.
