Armed Men Kidnap 9-Year-Old Boy in Ondo Home Invasion

A disturbing incident occurred in the early hours of Friday, June 5, in Igbosi Community, Idogun, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State. Armed men invaded the community, firing shots and causing widespread panic among residents. The gunmen then forced their way into the home of Pastor Olaosebikan Isaac, where they abducted his 9-year-old son, Victor Olaosebikan. In the chaos, Pastor Isaac managed to escape into the nearby bush, but unfortunately, his son was taken by the assailants. Another resident, Mr. Joel Owalekan, reported that the gunmen also vandalized his home while attempting to gain entry, but he was able to flee the area unharmed. The Police Public Relations Officer in Ondo State, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed that the police were notified of the incident at about 2:30 a.m. on Friday. According to Jimoh, security operatives immediately launched a search-and-rescue operation in collaboration with the Amotekun Corps. 'Upon receipt of the distress report, the Divisional Police Officer and his men, in collaboration with the Amotekun Corps, immediately mobilised to the scene and launched a coordinated search-and-rescue operation. Security operatives combed the surrounding forests and likely escape routes in a bid to rescue the abducted child and apprehend the perpetrators,' he explained. The police have commenced investigations, recovering and documenting relevant exhibits to aid in uncovering the circumstances surrounding the attack and tracking down those responsible. The police are appealing to members of the public with credible information on the whereabouts of the abducted child or the suspects to promptly report to the nearest police station or any security agency.
