One-Chance Syndicate in Abuja Exposed After Alleged Murder of Two Nurses

In a shocking turn of events, the Nigeria Police Force has apprehended members of a notorious 'one-chance' syndicate accused of abducting, torturing, and killing two nurses in the Federal Capital Territory. The suspects, who were paraded by the police, demonstrated the methods they used to subdue their victims. This revelation comes after the alleged deaths of Nurse Chinemerem Chukwumezie and Nurse Chinenye Bridget Abia, who were killed about a month apart. According to the police, Chinenye was abducted while commuting within Abuja and taken to an unknown location where she was held captive by the syndicate. Her family was forced to pay a ransom of N3.5 million, but despite this, the victim was killed by her captors, and her body was later found near Katanpi Bridge along the Kubwa Expressway. During a crime scene reconstruction exercise, the suspects showed how they lured, overpowered, and restrained victims inside commercial vehicles before robbing and abducting them. One of the suspects explained their modus operandi, saying: 'So once they enter, that person is already at the back while I'm at the front. Then we'll hold the lady… I'll bring out the knife and tell the person to either cooperate and give us the money we need. Then we'll use cord to tie the person's hand and use a scarf to tie the person's eyes.' The police stated that the group specifically targeted female passengers, whom they believed were less likely to resist their attacks. A woman who survived the gang also shared her harrowing experience, describing the trauma she still lives with and revealing that she lost over N11.5 million and other valuables to the suspects.
