National Institute Moves Orange Economy Event to December 2026

Full Story
The National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) has announced a new date for its National Summit and Exhibition focused on the Orange Economy, moving it from the initial October schedule to December 2026.
This significant gathering, a collaborative effort with Bruit Costaud Government Affairs Et Al Limited, was initially slated for October 6 to 8. Its original venue was the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts, previously known as the National Theatre, located in Lagos.
A statement released by the organisers on Wednesday confirmed the revised dates: December 8 to 10. The new location for the event is the Admiralty Event Centre, situated on Ahmadu Bello Way in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Explaining the shift, the organisers stated that the delay would allow for a more robust enhancement of the summit's agenda, foster broader engagement from stakeholders, and ultimately maximize the event's influence and anticipated deliverables. They quoted the official statement, which read: “The event was rescheduled to allow additional time to strengthen the event programme, broaden stakeholder participation and maximize the Summit’s overall impact and deliverables.”
The upcoming summit aims to convene a diverse group of participants, including key policymakers, investors, prominent figures in the creative and cultural sectors, entrepreneurs, academics, and development partners. Their collective goal is to thoroughly explore the prospects and hurdles present within Nigeria’s burgeoning Orange Economy.
Defined as economic activities stemming from creativity, culture, and intellectual property, the Orange Economy spans various sectors such as film, music, fashion, publishing, advertising, design, visual arts, entertainment, and other cultural industries. This sector has gained increasing prominence in Nigeria's economic diversification efforts, as the Federal Government actively seeks to boost its contribution to job creation, investment, innovation, and the nation's overall economic output.
Furthermore, the government has rolled out various initiatives designed to enhance funding, skill acquisition, infrastructure development, and investment within the creative sector. These efforts come despite persistent challenges like insufficient access to capital, issues with piracy, poor infrastructure, and a scarcity of comprehensive data for the sector.
The organisers emphasized that “the NIPSS summit will provide a platform for stakeholders to explore how the creative and cultural industries can contribute more significantly to economic diversification, job creation, innovation, investment and sustainable development.”
An expression of gratitude was extended by the organisers to all stakeholders who have shown commitment to the event. This includes partners, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, media houses, and individuals who have already registered. Their statement read: “We sincerely appreciate the enthusiasm and support demonstrated by our partners, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, media organizations and registered participants.”
While offering apologies for any inconvenience arising from the alteration of dates and location, they appealed to all stakeholders to continue their support for the rescheduled gathering. The organisers stated, “While we regret any inconvenience caused by the change in timing and location, we look forward to the continued support and active participation of all stakeholders.”
They concluded by assuring that the December summit would deliver “a robust national conversation and a compelling showcase of Nigeria’s vibrant Orange Economy.” The event is now confirmed to hold from December 8 to 10, 2026, at the Admiralty Event Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos.
