Bompastor Makes Four Key Changes for Chelsea Women's Tottenham Showdown

Full Story
Sonia Bompastor, the head coach for Chelsea Women, has implemented significant alterations to her squad for their highly anticipated Women's Super League encounter against London rivals Tottenham Hotspur. The crucial match is scheduled for this lunch-time at Stamford Bridge.
Bompastor had previously confirmed in her pre-match briefing that her team was free of any injury concerns, which allowed her the flexibility to rotate the starting eleven following a demanding international break for many of her players. Among the four strategic adjustments, Katie McCabe steps into the defensive line, taking the place of Veerle Buurman. In the midfield, Lexi Potter, fresh from her senior England debut last Tuesday, has been drafted into the starting XI, replacing Sjoeke Nusken.
Upfront, the attack sees Lauren James, who recently netted two goals for the Lionesses on Tuesday, coming in for Maika Hamano. Furthermore, Alyssa Thompson has been swapped into the lineup, with Sandy Baltimore moving to the bench. Club captain Erin Cuthbert will also start the game from the substitutes' bench. This decision comes after her full second-half participation in Scotland's 3-2 victory over Czechia earlier in the week.
The confirmed Chelsea starting eleven features: Hampton, Carpenter, Bronze (captain), Buchanan, McCabe, Kaptein, Walsh, Potter, James, Thompson, and Malard.
The Chelsea substitutes available are: Peng, Bjorn, Buurman, Cuthbert, Nusken, Dragoni, Hamano, Baltimore, and Beever-Jones.
