Hamburger SV, VfB Stuttgart Reveal Confirmed Squads for Volksparkstadion Showdown

Merlin Polzin's Hamburger SV, after an initial poor run this season, has found its stride with back-to-back wins against Köln and Hoffenheim. Miro Muheim secured a dramatic late winner for them last weekend in the Hoffenheim match, signaling a positive shift in their fortunes.

Similarly, Sebastian Hoeneß's VfB Stuttgart enters this fixture on a high note, having secured a 2-0 away triumph over Paderborn. Their positive run continued with a commanding 3-0 Champions League victory against Slovan Bratislava just a few days prior, on Wednesday evening.

Both clubs currently hold six points after their initial five league encounters this season. VfB Stuttgart occupies the 12th position, while Hamburger SV is just below them at 13th, separated only by goal difference. Playing at their home ground, the Volksparkstadion, Hamburg will be eager to replicate their thrilling 2-1 win against Stuttgart from the previous season.

Ahead of today's much-anticipated clash at the Volksparkstadion, the official starting elevens for both Hamburger SV and VfB Stuttgart have been released.

For Hamburger SV, the confirmed lineup features: Fernandes in goal; a defensive line of Capaldo, Bornauw, and Omari; the midfield comprises Wolfe, Nadiri, Lemke, and Muheim; with Viera and Adeline supporting striker Poulsen.
