Nigerian Forward David Okereke Bags Serie B Goal of the Month

Full Story
Nigerian striker David Okereke has been honored with Serie B's September Goal of the Month award, recognizing his spectacular long-range effort during Benevento's 3-1 triumph over Hellas Verona. The 29-year-old forward netted his impressive goal in the 59th minute, striking from approximately 30 meters out when the match was tied at 1-1.
Okereke's memorable strike saw him collect the ball just outside the penalty area before unleashing a powerful right-footed shot that soared into the top corner, leaving goalkeeper Nicola Leali with no chance. This marked his inaugural goal for Benevento in his fourth league appearance of the current season. His exceptional effort outshone those of Modena striker Andrea Belotti and Cremonese youngster Adin Ličina, who were also contenders for the prestigious accolade.
Okereke joined Benevento on a free transfer in August, following his departure from Cremonese.
