Man City CEO Soriano Foresees Years-Long Premier League Legal Battle

Manchester City's chief executive, Ferran Soriano, has delivered a resolute message to rival club officials concerning the numerous Premier League charges leveled against his team. City was found culpable on 114 out of 115 allegations brought forward by the Premier League, and an independent commission is now poised to decide on the appropriate sanctions.

However, Soriano made it unequivocally clear that the matter is far from settled. While addressing a meeting of European Football Clubs in Copenhagen, the City boss informed fellow executives that the club vehemently disputes the commission's conclusions. He stated that they would exhaust every avenue to overturn these findings through an appeal and potentially additional legal avenues.

"It has taken eight years to get here – and it's going to take a lot more time," Soriano was quoted as saying, according to The Times. The independent commission is anticipated to convene a sanctions hearing in the coming weeks, where the Premier League will present its recommended penalties.

Among the potential disciplinary actions are a points deduction, a substantial fine, a transfer embargo, or, in the most severe scenario, expulsion from the Premier League. English football circles are already buzzing with discussions about whether a sufficiently harsh points deduction could effectively lead to City's relegation. Manchester City is also expected to contest any imposed punishment and might reference Chelsea's recent case in their defense.
