Bala Abubakar's Wikki Tourists Targets Swift NPFL Return

Bala Abubakar, the Technical Adviser for Wikki Tourists FC, has reiterated the club's firm resolve to put together a formidable team aimed at swiftly regaining promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League. This declaration came from Abubakar during the current player evaluation sessions taking place at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi, as per an official statement released on Tuesday.

The coach emphasized that all players presently being assessed possess an equal chance to secure a spot within the squad, highlighting that only individuals showcasing exceptional quality, unwavering commitment, and full readiness would ultimately make the final cut. He further revealed that Wikki Tourists have engaged in six pre-season friendly encounters to date, emerging victorious in four and suffering two defeats. These matches, he noted, served as crucial opportunities for the technical crew to evaluate player performance and fortify the team in preparation for the upcoming 2026/27 Nigeria National League season.

Abubakar stated, “Our mission is clear: to return Wikki Tourists to the NPFL. We know what is expected of us, and by the grace of Allah, with the support of our management, government, supporters and all stakeholders, we will achieve that goal.” He went on to add that the technical team remains dedicated to assembling a squad poised to bring pride to the people of Bauchi throughout the entirety of the 2026/27 Nigeria National League campaign.

Having faced relegation from the NPFL, Wikki Tourists are set to compete in the Nigeria National League this season, with their sights firmly set on an immediate promotion back to Nigeria’s premier football division.
