Arsenal's Top Brass Reportedly Back Pursuit of Real Madrid Star Vinicius Jr

Following their recent Premier League title victory, which ended a 22-year drought, Arsenal Football Club is reportedly eyeing a significant reinforcement in Real Madrid's star forward, Vinicius Jr. The North London giants, known as the Gunners, are anticipated to be major players in the current transfer window, having already secured Greek winger Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge.
Nevertheless, the London club is also contemplating a more audacious bid for the Brazilian international, Vinicius, should he fail to reach an agreement on a new contract with Real Madrid. The 25-year-old currently has just one year left on his existing deal at the Santiago Bernabéu, and discussions regarding an extension have not yet yielded any progress.
While direct negotiations between Arsenal and Real Madrid are yet to commence, The Athletic reports that the prospect of acquiring Vinicius has received "approval at all levels" within the North London outfit. Vinicius, who arrived at Real Madrid from Flamengo in 2018 immediately after his 18th birthday, has since cemented his reputation as one of the globe's foremost attacking talents. His tenure with the Spanish powerhouse includes 375 appearances, where he has netted 128 goals and contributed 100 assists in various competitions. Furthermore, the Brazil international showcased his prowess at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he impressively scored four goals.
Vinicius is not the only attacking talent on Arsenal's radar this summer; Atlético Madrid's forward, Julián Álvarez, is also considered a long-term prospect. Unconfirmed reports indicate that while Atlético is hesitant to part ways with Álvarez, they might be more amenable to discussions with Arsenal compared to their rivals Barcelona, especially after the Catalan club publicly expressed interest in the striker. Additionally, the Gunners are reportedly eyeing Bournemouth forward Junior Kroupi as they evaluate potential reinforcements for their attacking line-up.
Shifting focus to the midfield, Arsenal maintains its interest in Newcastle United's captain, Bruno Guimarães. The club is reportedly readying a £70 million offer for the Brazilian international. Although Guimarães is believed to be receptive to a transfer to North London, Newcastle United has reportedly made it clear they do not intend to sell the midfielder during the current summer transfer window.
