Trump Sparks Controversy, Labels LeBron James 'Racist'

United States President, Donald Trump, has sparked controversy by suggesting that renowned NBA player, LeBron James, might be a racist. This statement was made during a news conference at the White House, where Trump was asked to compare James with another basketball legend, Michael Jordan. Trump, who has a known friendship with Jordan, stated that he prefers Jordan, citing their personal relationship and golf games together. He further expressed that he only likes people who like him, which led him to choose Jordan over James. James, who is 41 years old, recently announced his decision to join the Philadelphia 76ers on a two-year contract, marking what he called the 'last decision' of his NBA career. This move comes after James decided against retiring from the sport. Trump's comment about James being 'maybe a racist' could be linked to James' history of criticizing Trump during his presidency. James has been an outspoken critic of Trump and has endorsed Democratic candidates such as Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris. In 2017, James referred to Trump as 'a bum' following a dispute over White House invitations for NBA-winning teams. James has had a successful NBA career, winning four NBA titles with the Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Los Angeles Lakers, and has been named the league's Most Valuable Player four times. He is also the NBA's all-time leader in points and games played. With his move to the Philadelphia 76ers, James will be seeking to secure his fifth NBA title.
