The Nigerian national football team, popularly known as the Super Eagles, has maintained its 26th position in the world, according to the latest rankings released by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) on Thursday, June 11. In recent weeks, the team participated in the Unity Cup invitational tournament in London, where they secured victories against Zimbabwe and Jamaica with scores of 2-0 and 3-0, respectively. Following these matches, the Super Eagles engaged in a friendly match against Poland in Warsaw, which resulted in a 2-2 draw. However, their subsequent match against Portugal in Leiria ended in a 2-1 loss for the Nigerian team. On the continental level, the Super Eagles remain in the third position, trailing behind Morocco and Senegal, while Algeria and Egypt complete the top five in Africa. Globally, the top five teams have retained their positions, with Argentina leading as the world champions, followed by Spain, France, England, and Portugal.
