Billionaire businesswoman Apostle Folorunso Alakija and Senator Francis Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East Senatorial District, have extended their felicitations to Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke following his recent re-election.

In a congratulatory message dated September 3, Alakija, the immediate past chancellor of Osun State University, Osogbo, expressed profound joy and gratitude regarding Governor Adeleke's "resounding victory" in the latest governorship election. She highlighted that Adeleke's renewed mandate underscores the deep trust and confidence the people of Osun continue to place in his leadership. Alakija noted that his administration's "Commitment to the welfare, development, progress and well-being of Osun and its people had not gone unnoticed," adding that his re-election serves as an affirmation of the work already accomplished. Furthermore, she emphasized that "The renewed mandate also places a responsibility on the Governor to deliver even greater service to the people of Osun."

Separately, Senator Fadahunsi, in a personal statement issued from Osogbo on Friday, conveyed his congratulations to Governor Adeleke on his "Well-deserved re-election as Governor of Osun State." He further stated, "Your Excellency, having won the confidence and electoral franchise of the people for a second-term, I pray that God Almighty will grant you the wisdom, strength, and grace to surpass your achievements. I also pray that you will consolidate the gains of your first-term and deliver even more dividends of democracy to our people especially my Senatorial District. Please accept my assurances of support, collaboration, and partnership as we – you, me, and other stakeholders – work together for the peace, progress, and prosperity of our dear State."

The PUNCH had previously reported that Professor Joshua Ogunwole, the State Returning Officer for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), declared the incumbent Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, as the victor of the governorship election held on August 15. Governor Adeleke secured a total of 511,067 votes, successfully fending off his closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who garnered 444,815 votes.
