Governor Oyebanji Attributes Ekiti's Development to Divine Guidance

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has declared his consistent reliance on divine direction to steer the state towards achieving both peace and economic prosperity. Governor Oyebanji articulated that his ambition to transform Ekiti into a prosperous land has been primarily pursued through a steadfast commitment to honesty and transparency, coupled with seeking God's guidance to prevent his administration from faltering or failing.

The governor, whose remarks were delivered by his deputy, Mrs. Monisade Afuye, on Friday at the August edition of the Evening of Praise event held at the Government House Grounds in Ado Ekiti, the state capital, informed attendees that his administration, which commenced in 2022, is propelled by a six-point agenda aimed at making the state a hub of prosperity. He conveyed profound gratitude to God, stating that he has neither disappointed in his leadership nor betrayed the public trust in any aspect of the state's economic advancement.

Oyebanji emphasized, "The Evening of Praise was not just conceptualised as a gathering for funfair, but to seek divine direction that can save the people from economic doldrums, poverty and lift Ekiti to the pedestal of prosperity and greatness I had dreamt for the state."

The governor further highlighted that while human endeavour and intellect are essential for driving any vision, God's guidance remains a crucial catalyst for attaining anticipated success. He noted, "We thank God that this programme has been yielding positive results on the economic situation of the state and thus bringing peace to our people. Ekiti has been able to make it this far owing to God’s direction."

He commended his cabinet members for aligning with his vision to prioritize God in their leadership roles and encouraged other citizens residing within Ado Ekiti and its environs to participate in future editions of the event. "Our vision is to make this state great. We put in our little efforts and we are achieving greatness because God is on our side and he knows that we accord Him the respect that He deserves," he added.

Governor Oyebanji concluded by pledging to continue working diligently and selflessly to ensure Ekiti becomes greater, more peaceful, and economically buoyant than he inherited it. This, he stated, would be achieved through collaborations with like-minded individuals and by maintaining unwavering faith in the omnipotent power of God as the ultimate guide for leadership. Dignitaries present at the occasion included commissioners, special advisers, permanent secretaries, executive secretaries, clerics, and other high-ranking government officials.
