Villa Meeting: Tinubu Confers with APC State Leaders

President Bola Tinubu is currently engaged in discussions with governors elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform, known collectively as the Progressives Governors Forum, at the State House in Abuja. The high-level gathering commenced just before 4:00 PM on Thursday afternoon.

This particular engagement follows a separate session of the National Economic Council, which was presided over by Vice President Kashim Shettima, from which the governors had just emerged. At the time of this report, the agenda for the ongoing meeting between President Tinubu and the APC state chief executives remains officially undisclosed.

This significant interaction takes place barely eight days after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially signalled the start of campaigns for the 2027 general elections, in line with its published timetable. Furthermore, it comes five days subsequent to the APC's public release of its Presidential Campaign Council members list. This council is slated to be led by Senator Abdulaziz Yari, the former Governor of Zamfara State, who will serve as its Director-General.
