Osun Governorship Election Results: Adeleke Wins Second Term

The Osun State governorship election, which took place on August 15, 2026, has come to an end with the incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke emerging victorious. According to the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission Returning Officer, Prof. Joshua Ogunwole, Governor Adeleke secured a total of 511,067 votes, winning 19 out of the 30 local government areas in the state. The election saw a total of 1,010,684 voters accredited, with 985,079 valid votes cast and 207 rejected ballots. The All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, came second with 444,815 votes, winning 11 local government areas. The full list of the 15 candidates and their respective votes is as follows: Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party with 511,067 votes, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress with 444,815 votes, Najeem Salam of the African Democratic Congress with 17,180 votes, Adeagbo Opawoye of the African Democratic Party with 2,946 votes, Adefemi Adesuyi of the Zenith Labour Party with 2,482 votes, Olanrewaju Farinloye of the Action Alliance with 2,308 votes, Adesina Adeyemi-Doro of the All Progressives Grand Alliance with 1,475 votes, Olajide Esan of the African Action Congress with 1,458 votes, Olalekan Ogunsakin of the Young Progressives Party with 534 votes, Adewale Adebayo of the Allied Peoples Movement with 234 votes, Francis Ajala of the Social Democratic Party with 155 votes, Taofeek Adeleke of the New Nigeria Peoples Party with 118 votes, Clement Adesuyi of the Action Peoples Party with 114 votes, Masilo Adeleke of the Boot Party with 111 votes, and Saliu Oyelami of the Peoples Redemption Party with 83 votes. With this victory, Governor Adeleke is set to begin his second term in office.
