Atiku Commends Adeleke's Osun Victory as People's Mandate

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential flagbearer for the African Democratic Congress, has extended his felicitations to Governor Ademola Adeleke following his re-election as the Governor of Osun State. In a post shared on his official X handle this past Sunday, Atiku asserted that Governor Adeleke's recent electoral triumph is a clear indication of the preferences of Osun State citizens, as demonstrated through their votes.

“I congratulate Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election as Governor of Osun State. His victory demonstrates the choice of the people of Osun as expressed at the ballot box,” Atiku stated in his message. He also took the opportunity to commend the residents of the state for their orderly conduct throughout the electoral process, expressing his hopes for the governor's continued success in his second tenure.

He further added, “I commend the people for their passion and peaceful participation. I wish Governor Adeleke continued success as he continues to serve them.”

Governor Adeleke, who ran under the Accord Party banner, was officially declared the victor of the gubernatorial election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday. He secured a total of 511,067 votes, successfully defeating his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, who garnered 444,815 votes.
