The All Progressives Congress has strongly denounced the violent incidents that have occurred in Osun State in the lead-up to the gubernatorial election. In a recent interview, the party's national publicity secretary, Felix Morka, emphasized that the APC does not condone or engage in violence, and instead relies on its performance record to win the support of voters. Morka expressed concern over the level of violence in Osun, stating that it is unacceptable for people to be killed or injured while attempting to participate in the electoral process. He called on the relevant authorities, including the police, to investigate the incidents and bring those responsible to justice. The APC spokesperson also addressed the controversial remarks made by Senator Francis Fadahunsi, stating that it is the responsibility of the police to determine the context and potential illegality of the comments. Morka argued that Governor Ademola Adeleke, as the Chief Security Officer of Osun State, bears a significant responsibility for maintaining a peaceful atmosphere in the state. He alleged that Adeleke has not done enough to restrain his supporters, who have also been involved in violent incidents. Morka emphasized that the violence is not one-sided and that all political parties and their supporters should eschew violence and conduct themselves in a civil manner. He noted that President Bola Tinubu's priority is to respect the democratic choice of the people, rather than prioritizing the interests of the APC. The APC spokesperson defended the President's intervention in the EFCC matter, stating that the agency was performing its duties but that the timing of its action was politically sensitive.
