Rhodes-Vivour Pays Tribute to Late Mother, Recalls Her Unwavering Support

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the African Democratic Congress governorship candidate, has penned a heartfelt tribute to his late mother, Nkechi Stella Rhodes-Vivour. In the tribute, which was shared on Instagram, Rhodes-Vivour remembered his mother as a woman of unwavering faith, unrelenting love, and remarkable resilience. According to him, his mother was the epitome of love, and her love was uniquely tailored to each of her children. Rhodes-Vivour recalled how his mother would often encourage him during difficult moments, saying, 'At my lowest, most unsure moments, she had the perfect words to lift my spirits, the perfect prayer to strengthen me.' He also remembered how his mother initially struggled with his decision to venture into politics due to the risks involved. However, he watched as her love and courage eventually overcame her fears, transforming her into one of his biggest supporters on the campaign trail. As he reflected on his mother's influence on his life, Rhodes-Vivour said, 'My father taught me to be fearless. My mother taught me how to overcome fear.' He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to make his mother proud during her lifetime, saying, 'I am so grateful to God for the many opportunities God gave us to make her proud, to make her heart full of joy and to return the love she unrelentingly poured into us all.' Rhodes-Vivour described his mother as a compassionate woman who constantly encouraged and prayed for those around her, adding, 'She had a boundless capacity to be the agony aunt or sister, but she would never leave you in the misery she met you.'
