Kano's Aminu Gwarzo Urges PVC Registration Before July 24 Deadline

Aminu Gwarzo, the New Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship aspirant for Kano State, has strongly appealed to all eligible residents who have not yet obtained their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to do so. He particularly called on young people and women to take advantage of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)'s new online portal to register from their homes, using their National Identification Number (NIN), ahead of the July 24 cut-off date.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Ibrahim Shuaibu, on Saturday, Gwarzo highlighted that INEC has introduced a self-service registration platform, accessible at cvr.inecnigeria.org. This innovative tool allows first-time voters to begin and finalize their registration process online.
Emphasizing the crucial role of voting, Gwarzo noted it as a fundamental means for citizens to express their views and shape the democratic trajectory of the nation. He stated, “This new portal removes the barrier of long queues. Our young people, our mothers and sisters can now register at home using their phones or computers. There is no excuse not to participate.”
The NDC candidate specifically encouraged youths and women to come forward and register, asserting that the PVC is the sole instrument for driving positive change. He declared, “The PVC is your power. It is the weapon we have to bring about positive change for our families, our communities, and Kano State. I am calling on our youth and women especially—register, collect your PVC, and vote in 2027.”
Gwarzo further advised all qualified Nigerians who are yet to register to complete their online pre-registration, subsequently undergo biometric data capture where required, and collect their PVCs once they become available. He concluded by saying, “The future of Kano State and Nigeria depends on informed and responsible citizens. Register today, vote peacefully in 2027, and let’s build the Kano we all desire.”
Additionally, he urged community leaders, religious bodies, youth associations, and civil society organizations to actively mobilize citizens for mass registration in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
