Former United States President, Donald Trump, recently showcased a special commemorative US passport bearing his likeness, as part of the ongoing festivities for America's 250th anniversary. Taking to his Truth Social account on Friday, Trump presented the design, remarking that it’s “The U.S.A.’s New Passport, which says, ‘Welcome, but be good!'”

A sample of the passport page, shared by the former president, depicts Trump behind the iconic Resolute Desk. The backdrop for this image includes text from the original Declaration of Independence, with his signature positioned at the bottom. Across from this, the renowned artwork *The Declaration of Independence* by John Trumbull is featured.

This fresh design seems to be derived from a rendition of Trump's portrait housed at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in Washington. This differs from earlier visuals released by the US State Department in the current year. The White House subsequently posted the identical rendering on its official X (formerly Twitter) platform, accompanied by the caption: “New U.S. Passport to Commemorate America’s 250th.”

Queries regarding whether this image constitutes the definitive design for the commemorative passport were directed by the White House to the State Department, which has not yet offered a statement.

This special limited-edition passport was initially unveiled in April as one of the planned activities to mark the 250th year of the United States. It was previously described as incorporating bespoke artwork and improved imagery across its front, back, and interior covers.

Previously, an official from the State Department informed CNN that this commemorative version would be the standard issue from the Washington Passport Agency for individuals renewing their passports in person. However, online applications and renewals processed elsewhere would still receive the present passport design.

In contrast, the current standard US passport showcases Percy Moran’s painting of Francis Scott Key on its inside front cover. This artwork illustrates the morning following the bombardment of Fort McHenry, complemented by excerpts from the American national anthem.
