Abia State Sees Boost in Community Projects as Governor Otti Vows Support

In a move to foster unity and preserve cultural heritage, Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has expressed his administration's commitment to supporting community-driven projects. This pledge was made during the launch and fundraising event for the acquisition of land for the construction of a Heritage Centre by the Association of Isiala Ngwa Sons and Daughters, which was attended by the governor's representative, Pastor Caleb Ajagba. The event, which aimed to raise ₦500 million, underscores the association's vision of creating a rallying point for its members and a symbol of their collective identity. Governor Otti, through his chief of staff, described the proposed Heritage Centre as a 'noble and visionary project' that aligns with his administration's agenda of building a prosperous and inclusive state. He emphasized the importance of community-driven initiatives in promoting social cohesion and sustainable growth, urging the association to mobilize more members to harness their collective potential. The President-General of the Association, Elder Uchendu Ahuruonye, applauded Governor Otti's leadership, noting the significant strides made in restoring confidence in governance and infrastructural development across the state. The association's goal is to build a heritage centre that serves as a permanent home, promoting unity, cultural values, and socio-economic development of the Ngwa community. With the governor's support, the project is expected to move forward, contributing to the state's overall development and cultural preservation.
