INEC Opens Recruitment Portal for Various Positions Across Nigeria

The Independent National Electoral Commission has officially begun its recruitment process for the year 2026, inviting eligible Nigerian citizens to apply for a variety of positions at different grade levels. The available positions include Professional Cadre, Administrative Officer II, and Executive Officer, spanning across Grade Levels 07, 08, 09, 10, and 12. According to the recruitment notice, the exercise aims to bolster the Commission's capabilities in areas such as electoral administration, voter registration, data management, election logistics, and other critical electoral operations.
The recruitment portal, which can be accessed at https://recruitment.inecnigeria.org/, is now open for applications, scheduled to run from Monday, July 20, 2026, to Monday, July 27, 2026. To be considered for the positions, applicants must meet specific qualifications, including possession of relevant degrees, professional certifications, NYSC discharge certificates, and proficiency in computer applications. For instance, those applying for the Professional Cadre must have a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent, a Master's degree in a relevant field, and relevant professional certification where applicable.
Additionally, all applicants are required to be Nigerian citizens by birth or descent, present a valid Local Government Certificate of Origin, be computer literate, medically fit, and 35 years old or below at the time of application. They must also demonstrate integrity, discipline, and commitment to public service. The application process is free of charge, and candidates are warned against paying anyone for the recruitment process. Multiple applications will lead to automatic disqualification, and recruitment will be based strictly on submitted credentials.
The Commission also emphasized that no upgrading of qualifications will be allowed after application, and false information or forged documents will result in disqualification and possible prosecution. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for the next stage of the recruitment process. Interested applicants can visit the INEC recruitment portal to complete the online application form, upload required credentials, and submit their applications. With the deadline for applications set for Monday, July 27, 2026, eligible Nigerians are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to contribute to the country's electoral process.
