The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has officially declared the commencement of its 2026 recruitment exercise, slated to begin on Friday, July 3. The agency is inviting eligible Nigerians to submit applications for various positions across its officer, marshal inspectorate, and road marshal assistant cadres.

Applications will be exclusively accepted online for a period of four weeks, accessible through the FRSC's dedicated recruitment portal. This development was outlined in a notice dated June 24, which was seen on Wednesday. The notice was signed by Pauline Olaye, the Deputy Corps Marshal and Head of Administration and Human Resources, acting on behalf of the Corps Marshal. The FRSC explicitly stated that the application process is entirely free, emphasizing, “Application is free and attracts no cost.”

Prospective candidates are directed to submit their applications via the official recruitment website: https://recruitment.frsc.gov.ng. Those who are eventually shortlisted will be required to present printed copies of their completed application forms during the subsequent screening exercise. The notice further clarified: “Applications must be submitted online within four (4) weeks with effect from Friday, 3rd July, 2026.” The recruitment initiative is structured into three distinct categories.

Under the Officer Cadre, the FRSC is seeking to recruit Superintendent Route Commanders, Route Commanders/Deputy Route Commanders, and Assistant Route Commanders. This category is open to qualified medical doctors, pharmacists, nurses, medical laboratory scientists, lawyers, engineers, and graduates holding B.Sc., BA, or HND qualifications, depending on the specific role. Applicants for the Officer Cadre must generally be between 18 and 35 years of age.

For the Marshal Inspectorate Cadre, individuals with NCE, ND/OND, Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife, and Community Health Extension Worker certifications are eligible to apply. Candidates in this cadre must be within the age range of 18 to 30 years.

The Road Marshal Assistant Cadre welcomes applicants who possess a minimum of three credits in their Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE), which must include English Language and Mathematics. This category also provides opportunities for artisans and drivers. The corps specified that skilled workers such as computer operators, mechanics, electricians, plumbers, tailors, motorcycle riders, and drivers can apply, provided they hold the necessary trade qualifications and licenses. Applicants seeking driver and rider positions must hold a valid driver’s license of the appropriate class. Articulated and tow-truck drivers, specifically, must be between 26 and 40 years old.

To register, candidates should navigate to the official FRSC recruitment portal at https://recruitment.frsc.gov.ng. After carefully reviewing the requirements and confirming their preferred position and specialization, applicants can proceed with the registration. This entails accurately providing personal details such as their National Identification Number (NIN), driver’s license number, surname, other names, email address (with confirmation), contact address, phone number, date and place of birth, nationality, state and LGA of origin, hometown, preferred physical screening venue, height, weight, gender, and marital status. Once all required information is entered, applicants should click “submit draft application,” followed by an email confirmation.

In addition to the specific cadre requirements, the FRSC has outlined several general criteria for all prospective applicants. Candidates must be Nigerian citizens by birth, computer literate, medically fit, and single. They are also expected to possess all necessary educational qualifications and professional licenses relevant to their desired roles. The corps mandates a minimum height of 1.65 meters for male candidates and 1.58 meters for female candidates. The official notice cautioned, “Ensure that all certificates and qualifications are declared and presented at the point of recruitment, as undeclared qualifications will not be accepted for future career progression in the Corps.”

Furthermore, applicants are required to demonstrate good character, be free from any financial indebtedness, and must not have any prior criminal convictions. The FRSC also stipulated that applicants should not have tattoos on any part of their bodies and must use their personal email addresses and phone numbers for their submissions. Pregnant women are advised against applying for this exercise. The corps issued a strong warning against fraudulent activities, reiterating that the entire recruitment process is free of charge. The notice explicitly stated, “This recruitment is absolutely free. Interested applicants should beware of fraudsters.” For any inquiries, the public can contact the FRSC on their helpline, 122.
