Tehran's Top Military Officer Announces $30,000 Bounty for US Troops

Iran's top military official has publicly declared a significant reward of $30,000 for any individual who successfully eliminates or captures a United States soldier. The bounty, which can also be claimed as 5 billion tomans, is even doubled for Iranian women who undertake such an action.
Army Chief Amir Hatami revealed this development to IRNA, stating that the decision was prompted by a "large number of requests" for bounties on American military personnel. This announcement comes despite the current absence of US ground forces within Iran's borders.
Hatami explicitly stated, “Anyone who kills or captures and hands over an invading American military personnel will receive a reward equivalent to $30,000 or 5 billion tomans from the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army.” He further emphasized the special incentive for women, adding, “Courageous Iranian women who carry out such an action will receive double the reward.”
According to reports from the New York Post, the military chief also mentioned plans for a museum where weapons used in the killing of an American would allegedly be displayed. Since the conflict with Iran commenced on February 28, a total of 18 US troops have died, though all fatalities occurred outside Iran due to airstrikes and munition incidents. The last recorded presence of a US soldier on Iranian soil was in April, following an F-15E fighter jet crash that led to a swift rescue operation for its pilot and weapons specialist.
This bounty declaration emerges amidst heightened tensions, particularly after President Trump's repeated assertions that Iran is struggling to finance its troops, a situation exacerbated by the renewed US naval blockade impacting the Islamic Republic’s financial stability.
