Nigerian Woman in UK Turns Down £15m to Relocate, Citing Nigeria's Medical Negligence

A UK-based Nigerian woman has made a shocking revelation, stating that she would not return to Nigeria permanently, no matter the amount of money offered to her. This decision stems from her painful experience of losing two children due to alleged medical negligence in Nigeria. In a video interview posted on X.com by #DammieDammie, the woman, who hails from Ogun State, was asked if she would accept £200,000 to relocate to Nigeria and never return to the UK. She declined the offer, emphasizing that her decision to leave Nigeria was not driven by financial motives. As the offer was successively increased to £300,000, £500,000, and even £15m, the woman remained resolute in her stance. 'You can't even pay me enough to go back,' she stated. The woman attributed her refusal to the traumatic loss of her two children, which she believes was a result of medical negligence. 'I lost two children to medical negligence. Back to back in two years,' she recounted. Although she chose not to delve into the details of the incidents, citing the emotional distress it would cause her, she noted that healthcare professionals in the UK have expressed disbelief upon hearing about the circumstances surrounding her children's deaths. 'Every time I tell them here, to the doctors here, that my children died because of this, they all ask me, 'Am I joking?'' she added. The woman credited the UK's healthcare system for saving the life of her son, stating that he might not have survived if he had been born in Nigeria. While acknowledging that medical errors can occur in the UK, she pointed out that such incidents are relatively rare. 'I know it happens here also, but the ratio is very, very low,' she said.
