Nigerian music superstar Temilade Openiyi, globally recognized as Tems, has been appointed as the executive music producer and curator for the soundtrack of the upcoming fantasy epic, 'Children of Blood and Bone'. Her manager has also confirmed that the acclaimed artist will contribute three brand-new tracks to the eagerly awaited film.

The significant announcement was first reported on Tuesday by Wilson Morales, founder of BlackFilmandTV, who shared insights from the film's trailer launch event held in New York City. According to Morales, director Gina Prince-Bythewood revealed Tems' extensive role, which includes overseeing the entire soundtrack in addition to providing original compositions. Morales detailed, “At the trailer launch event in New York City for Paramount Pictures’ upcoming epic fantasy film, Children of Blood and Bone, director Gina Prince-Bythewood announced that singer Tems will executive music produce and curate the soundtrack for the film. She also contributed three songs. Burna Boy is coming on board as the executive music consultant.”

Muyiwa Awoniyi, Tems’ manager, subsequently corroborated this news via a post on X, stating, “Executive Music Producer & Curator of the Children of Blood and Bone soundtrack. Our very own @temsbaby. Three brand new Tems songs. Coming soon.”

This revelation follows closely on the heels of the film's official trailer release, which gave fans a first glimpse of fellow Nigerian singer Ayra Starr in her debut acting role. Ayra Starr, whose character in the adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi's bestselling novel remains undisclosed, had previously described this project as her inaugural major acting venture. Furthermore, Tems' popular hit single, 'Me & U', is prominently featured in the film's initial official teaser.

The Paramount Pictures production, based on Tomi Adeyemi’s celebrated fantasy novel, ‘Children of Blood and Bone’, boasts an impressive ensemble cast. This includes Hollywood heavyweights like Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Cynthia Erivo, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Lashana Lynch, alongside Nigerian stars Richard Mofe-Damijo, Ayra Starr, and Damson Idris. Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, the film is slated for a theatrical release on January 15, 2027.
