Nigerian Whiz Kid Chibuchi Francis Shines at Global Performing Arts Championship

A 12-year-old Nigerian actor, Chibuchi Francis, has made his country proud by winning a bronze medal in the acting category for 11-12 year olds at the 2026 World Championships of Performing Arts. The event, which took place in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, from July 13 to July 21, brought together talented performers from over 80 countries to compete in various disciplines such as acting, singing, dancing, and modelling. The competition, often referred to as the 'Entertainment Olympics', provides a platform for emerging performers to showcase their skills and promotes cultural exchange and artistic excellence. Chibuchi, who represented Team Nigeria under the guidance of Ambassador Lovethpatra White Ekufu, the National Director of WCOPA Team Nigeria and Founder of Street2Fame Nigeria Performing Arts Entertainment, was sponsored by Street2Fame Nigeria as part of its talent development initiative. The organisation aims to expose gifted Nigerian youths to international opportunities and nurture their talents. Reacting to Chibuchi's achievement, Ekufu expressed her pride and stated that the bronze medal is evidence that Nigerian children have the potential to excel globally when given the right support. 'The bronze medal won by Chibuchi David Francis proves that Nigerian youths possess world-class talent. When young people are given the opportunity to dream, prepare and compete, they can excel on the global stage,' she said. Ekufu also called for greater support for structured talent development across the country and reiterated Street2Fame's commitment to identifying and nurturing the next generation of Nigerian creative talents through training, mentorship, and international exposure.
