BELMONT, NY – A significant alliance has been forged among three of Belmont village's esteemed community pillars, all set to bolster one of its most beloved annual events. The Belmont Rotary Club, the original conveners of Amity Daze, alongside the American Legion Herbert W. DeLong Post 808 and the Belmont Fire Department, have jointly declared a fresh collaborative venture. Their goal is to meticulously organize and considerably expand the 39th Annual Amity Daze, slated for August 7th to 8th, 2026.

For nearly four decades, Amity Daze has stood as a cherished summer tradition, celebrating the essence of Belmont through community yard sales, showcasing local businesses, offering diverse food options, providing entertainment, and hosting family-friendly activities. By pooling the collective strengths, volunteer networks, and resources of these three formidable organizations, the upcoming event is anticipated to deliver an exhilarating weekend for everyone.

Shannon Harding, a member of the organizing committee, remarked, “This partnership truly embodies what makes Belmont such an exceptional community. Instead of operating in silos, we are uniting three organizations that share a deep commitment to serving Belmont. Together, we are crafting a grander, superior event that not only respects the long-standing tradition of Amity Daze but also introduces captivating new experiences designed to attract visitors from across the entire region.”

The collaboration strategically merges the Rotary Club's nearly 40-year heritage of orchestrating Amity Daze with the robust volunteer base and community facilities provided by the American Legion, complemented by the Belmont Fire Department’s unwavering dedication to public service and community involvement.

Among the most exciting additions slated for this year's celebration is the debut of the Amity Daze Porch Fest. This village-wide music festival will feature local musicians performing from various informal stages such as porches, patios, lawns, and garages throughout Belmont. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to wander through the village, enjoy live music, explore numerous community yard sales, patronize local vendors, and immerse themselves in Belmont’s warm, small-town ambiance.

Further attractions planned for the vibrant weekend include:

* Community-Wide Yard Sales

* Amity Daze Porch Fest

* Local Vendors and Artisans

* Family Activities at the Belmont Legion Complex

* Pickleball Tournament

* Basket Auction (details for basket donations are available on the Belmont Rotary Facebook Page)

* Rotary Club Beef on Weck Meals

* Live Entertainment

* Euchre Tournament

* Demonstrations and Community Exhibits

* Activities for All Ages

Organizers express hope that the enhanced event will not only provide a memorable weekend for local residents but also inspire visitors from neighboring communities to explore Belmont’s businesses, parks, various organizations, and its historic charm. The organizing committee stated, “This collaboration is fundamentally about investing in Belmont’s future. When organizations work hand-in-hand, everyone reaps the benefits—our residents, our businesses, our non-profits, and the numerous visitors who come to experience all that our community has to offer.”

Preparations for the 2026 festivities are well underway, and the organizing committee is actively inviting community members to participate. Musicians, as well as home and business owners interested in hosting or performing for Porch Fest, are strongly encouraged to become part of this exciting new chapter for Amity Daze. Registration opportunities for vendors, Porch Fest hosts and performers, and community yard sales are currently active. Amity Daze schedule and registration particulars have been distributed to all residents. Additionally, the committee extends an open invitation to other civic organizations, churches, businesses, and community groups keen on supporting the event and contributing to its sustained growth in the years to come.
