Davido Reveals Unexpected Casting for Hit Song 'Aye' Video

Nigerian music superstar, Davido, recently recounted the intriguing circumstances surrounding the selection of the lead video vixen for his widely acclaimed track, 'Aye', a song released over a decade ago. The 'Omo Baba Olowo' crooner shared this behind-the-scenes anecdote during an appearance on CapitalXtra.
Davido explained that the initial choice for the video's main female role was participating in a beauty pageant. Just as filming was about to commence, her manager contacted the production team to inform them that the pageant organizers had invoked a contractual clause, preventing her from taking part in the music video.
Facing a last-minute casting dilemma, the team made an impromptu decision. "The girl who was meant to be the lead was in a pageant. We were about to shoot when her manager called to say the pageant organizers had reminded them she was under contract, so we couldn’t use her. We ended up using her makeup artist and when the music video blew up, the two of them fell out," Davido narrated during the interview.
However, the DMW boss later provided a clarification regarding the alleged falling out between the original vixen and her makeup artist. He issued a subsequent comment, stating that, contrary to his initial recollection, the two friends ultimately did not experience a rift.
