Unizik Students Assault Alleged Lecturer Over Molestation Claim

A man, identified by reports as a lecturer at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (Unizik) in Awka, Anambra State, was subjected to a brutal mob attack by students. The incident saw him completely stripped and beaten following serious allegations of sexual molestation by a female undergraduate.

A video circulating online captures the dramatic moments. It shows a female student exiting an office building, visibly in distress, with her clothes and hair disheveled as tears stream down her face. In the background, students can be heard shouting, "Catch him! Catch him o!" as they rush towards the alleged female victim, who is seen falling to the ground, crying. Further into the footage, a group of male students are seen surrounding a naked man, repeatedly hitting and kicking him.

Unconfirmed accounts suggest the lecturer was discovered unclothed in an office after the female student reportedly fled the scene with his garments, screaming for assistance and accusing him of attempting to coerce her into a sexual act. The confrontation unfolded on the university campus, directly in front of the Chike Okoli Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies. It appears the individual accused was not afforded an opportunity to present his defense or provide his version of events before the students launched their assault.
